Her house, her perfect hideaway, her sanctuary, her home. She doesn’t just think just about the size or the color but about how the home will “live. A woman "imagines how she would entertain in the home: she looks for ways the home will be a refuge from her busy lifestyle and help her de-stress; she picks up on the homes storage (or lack of); and her natural nurturing instinct and tendency to anticipate future events also means her home must be flexible enough to accommodate today’s needs as well as tomorrow’s.”

Why Woman Centered Styling? Research shows that as many as 91% of all new home purchases are made or heavily influenced by women. Mountain Dog Building likes to focus on who our buyer is and what is of key importance to them when building a home. While we do maintain awareness of men’s new home desires, we think that the woman centered approach really works for everybody. Of course our company is also profoundly influenced by a female perspective on construction and design.
While we already know that many of the people who come through our homes appreciate the key elements that this feminine influence has helped provide, we wanted to take the process one step further, by breaking down the elements and highlighting them with further explanation within our home plans. We feel that a woman centered approach incorporates many of the vital elements of making a house a true home; we also know that many times it is she that is acutely conscious of what will make that home a retreat from today’s busy lifestyle, a sanctuary which the entire family unit, be it a couple, a large family with children a blended family or a single man or woman can escape to.

Her house, her perfect hideaway, her sanctuary, her home. She doesn’t just think just about the size or the color but about how the home will “live.” Research done by Design Basics in Omaha, Nebraska revealed four “lenses” women use to evaluate home plans: “she imagines how she would entertain in the home: she looks for ways the home will be a refuge from her busy lifestyle and help her de-stress; she picks up on the homes storage (or lack of); and her natural nurturing instinct and tendency to anticipate future events also means her home must be flexible enough to accommodate today’s needs as well as tomorrow’s.” This fits with our ideas on the Woman Centered Styling of our homes, in that, at Mountain Dog Building we know that the real worth of the home is found in the details. We design and build homes that embody healthy living, practical design and livable space. We have broken the particulars down into four categories to elaborate these points and then color coded the areas within our Model Home floor plan, to further illustrate how our homes exemplify the Woman Centered approach.
